Is sex good?

Is the sky good? Are flowers beautiful? Of course, sex is good.

1 Corinthians 7:
²But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. ³The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. ⁴The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. ⁵Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Galatians 5:

¹⁹The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; ²⁰idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions ²¹and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

When God created Adam and Eve, He inspected His work, and "saw that it was very good." Hey, very good! And that is straight from God!

The devil, Hollywood and carnal people make sex bad.

I know of a girl who rebelled against her parents and gone out with a boy who was loose and had a family history of sexual looseness. She reasoned: my parents are so old-fashioned; times have changed; I know what I am doing. If it feels good, do it.

So she went out, came home late many times. Then, one day she went too far and got pregnant. They got married. And lived happily after??? NO. The guy had several affairs, and children by those affairs. He would verbally abuse the wife. The wife died of a broken heart and looked 10 years older than she really was.

My wife puts it this way: The plant grows and blooms because of the soil in the flower pot. The soil while in the pot is good. But spill the soil on the floor, and it becomes dirt.

So with sex. Sex in the circle of matrimony is good and beautiful. But sex outside marriage is bad: bad for those involved, bad for the children born out of wedlock, and bad for society.

There is harmony in the world because of laws. The moon is beautiful and circles the earth because of the law of gravity. The seas team with fish because of the tides that are created by the pull of the moon's gravity.

Flowers bloom because of the regularity of day and night. Earth's rotation around the sun governs the sunrise and sunset. Too much sun or no sun kills the plants.

Take away these laws, and you have catastophe: floods, earth warming, etc. People die.

I have counseled many people with sex problems and marital problems. Families with a history of sexual promiscuity always are unstable and the majority break up. The victims are the children who grow up with insecurity.

Families with sexual integrity are more stable. The children are better adjusted.

God ordained sex, but put certain laws to govern it so that it can be enjoyed safely.
